A Helpful Guide to Navigating the Auto Service Menu

It can be tricky trying to understand what what you’re actually getting when you look at the auto services menu. To make it easy on you, we’ve constructed this comprehensive list of what each of our auto services entail.

What Our Auto Services Actually Mean

Courtesy Auto Service’s Fuel System Cleaning: Over time, your car’s fuel system build up gum and varnish. Our fuel system cleaning gets rid of that and cleans out the fuel injectors. You car will run better, and you might just save some gas, too.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Headlamp Replacement: Halogen and standard headlamps gradually fade. Our auto services replace them.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Inspections: An inspection may reveal some things that are broken or are getting close to having a problem. Our inspection acts as a diagnostics test to see what’s wrong.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Oil Change: – There are several options for oil changes. There is a basic oil change and new filter option. Most of the time we will also check and top off all of your other fluids and do a quick visual inspection with a full service oil change.

Courtesy Auto Service’s PCV Valve Replacement in Tacoma:
PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. It’s a the part that releases pressure from the engine. It can get gummed up and that can lead to engine damage. Just needs to be changed now and then.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Power Steering Service: Often overlooked. Your friendly Courtesy Auto Service technician will evacuate the old fluid, clean out the system and replace it with clean fluid.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Serpentine Belt Service:
That’s the belt that powers an engine’s accessories like the alternator, air conditioner, power steering and brakes. You’ll want to replace the serpentine belt before it breaks, because that’ll shut you down.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Shocks and Struts: This starts with an inspection of the suspension components. Shocks last a long time and wear out slowly, so many people typically don’t notice when it’s time to change them. If they’re worn or leaking, they need to be replaced.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Transmission Service:
This involves removing the transmission fluid and replacing it with clean fluid. It’s like an oil change for your transmission.

Courtesy Auto Service’s Tire Rotation and Wheel Balancing: The tires are rotated from front to back using the recommended rotation pattern. This helps tires wear more evenly. Wheels need to be balanced from time to time to keep them turning without any wobble or bounce. Helps the ride and saves tire wear.
